Behind every new chapter are people who care about dogs. Meet the people behind Pawsitive Story.

I’m Lyanne and I live in Harkstede with my husband and our Romanian dog, Kees. As chair and secretary of Stichting Pawsitive Story, I combine my board duties with fostering and adoption matching.
Read the personal story
Dogs have been a big part of my life since childhood: our own dogs at home, as well as those belonging to people in the neighbourhood. I walked dogs, helped briefly at an animal shelter and became increasingly fascinated by canine behaviour and behavioural training. I wanted to become a dog behaviour specialist, but eventually chose business administration. Fortunately, I can spend plenty of my free time with dogs, and I still enjoy studying their behaviour.
When I was seventeen, I made a bucket list. Helping with a sterilisation campaign was on it. Even then, I believed that sterilisation is a key to preventing animal suffering.
After several rewarding years volunteering with another foundation, I feel honoured to continue this work with our own foundation, Pawsitive Story.
Alongside my work as chair and secretary, I’m involved in the day-to-day activities. I foster dogs, carry out home visits and help match dogs with suitable homes. Together with my colleague Farah, I also manage our social media.

Mariëlle has years of experience fostering dogs who need extra support. Alongside her own dogs, she helps foster dogs settle and enjoy being dogs again. She also has experience matching dogs with adopters and staying in touch with them. As a board member of Stichting Pawsitive Story, she brings that experience to giving each dog attention and a carefully chosen home.

Laura Wansink
Team member
With compassion and a realistic outlook, Laura looks for a home that suits both dog and adopter.
Read the personal story
Laura has felt connected to animals in need since childhood. Seeing a dog without a safe place touches her deeply. With love, patience and determination, she works to give dogs a fair chance. She looks beyond first impressions: what does this dog need, and what can an adopter offer? Not every dog suits every family, and love alone is not always enough. That is why she takes the time to understand both person and dog. For Laura, a successful adoption means that both can feel at home together.
