Projects

Caring for dogs means helping and preventing hardship. We work towards better living conditions and fewer dogs in need.

Spaying and neutering

We want to prevent animal suffering before it begins. That is why we help fund spaying and neutering in Romania for stray dogs and dogs whose owners cannot afford the procedure. This prevents unwanted litters and reduces the risk of more dogs ending up on the streets.

For us, prevention is a focused way to make a lasting difference with limited resources. Preventing unwanted litters also avoids the need to rescue, feed and provide medical care for those puppies later. This can leave more time, funding and foster places available for dogs who already need help.

One procedure has a lasting impact

A €50 contribution helps fund a spay. After the procedure, a female dog can no longer have puppies: it prevents not just one litter, but also the litters she might otherwise have later. Those unborn puppies will not have offspring of their own either. This breaks a chain that could otherwise continue for generations.

The exact number of dogs prevented varies with the circumstances. What is certain is that one spay prevents all future litters from that dog. That is why we choose to help at the source, alongside caring for dogs who need a home today.

Working together on prevention

Ohana Paws

Together with Ohana Paws and veterinarian Oana Spatariu, we aim to make spaying and neutering possible for dogs in rural Romania. We focus on stray dogs and dogs whose owners cannot afford a procedure or do not have a vet nearby.

Our role is to help fund the procedures. Through proceeds from rehoming and donor support, we aim to make this care accessible. This helps dogs today while preventing future litters for whom there is no safe place.

Our planned contribution

Sadie’s Dog Rescue ambulance project

Through Sadie’s Dog Rescue’s ambulance project, we aim to fund spaying and neutering. Our contribution will focus on paying for the procedures. More information about the project and how it works will follow.

Help prevent animal suffering

Donate towards a spay or neuter

A spay or neuter is expected to cost €35 to €50, depending on the dog’s size and sex. A smaller contribution also helps make this possible.

Choose an amount that suits you on the payment page.

You donate to Stichting Pawsitive Story and help us make spaying and neutering possible.
