Sam
A cheerful, playful companion with a grey muzzle and a great love of squeaky toys.
Interested in Sam? ↓This is my story
Sam is six years old and about 38 cm tall. His grey muzzle may make him look older, but in foster care we are getting to know a cheerful, playful dog who enjoys life.
He loves toys and balls, especially squeaky toys, and can happily entertain himself with them. Attention and company matter just as much: Sam is very affectionate, likes sitting on a lap and giving kisses. Sometimes he needs a little guidance to give people some space too. Afterwards, he enjoys sleeping on the sofa.
Sam was found on the streets in Romania. He had grass awns in two places and his teeth needed attention. The source profile reports that these problems have been treated and his teeth have recently received dental care. He is now staying with a foster family in the Netherlands.
At home, Sam is house-trained, does not destroy things and enjoys playing with his toys. He is watchful in the garden and lets people know when something happens. On walks, he walks nicely on the lead. Time alone still needs to be built up gradually.
Sam lives with a female dog in foster care and they get along well. When meeting unfamiliar dogs, he can sometimes be assertive or approach too eagerly. With calm, clear guidance, he then sniffs and the interaction goes well. We are looking for people who will continue this guidance consistently. How he gets along with cats is unknown.
A home that suits me
A loving home with attention, security and people who enjoy an affectionate dog. Sam benefits from calm, clear and consistent guidance, including when meeting other dogs and learning to spend time alone. The profile specifies children aged 12 or older and a garden or yard.
Always discuss needs and placement conditions with us. We would love to explore a suitable match together.
